8-27-25   THOUGHTS

Our theme this morning is “fulfilling the Royal Law”!  Gal 5:14   For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the [statement,]  "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."  It seems that the royal law is not so much a process law as one of love and mercy applied without partiality.  LIVE LOVE (noun) MERCIFULLY.  The LAW OF LIBERTY is also in this reading.  John 5:24  "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.”  1John 3:14    “We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death.”

Jas 2:8-12   If, however, you are fulfilling the royal law according to the Scripture, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF," you are doing well.  9  But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.  10  For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.  11  For He who said, "DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY," also said, "DO NOT COMMIT MURDER." Now if you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. 12  So speak and so
act as those who are to be judged by the law of liberty...
Jas 2:13
For judgment [will be] merciless to one who has shown no mercy;

mercy triumphs over judgment.
A Prayer:
Father, teach us that it is not a pitiful existence that we live, but a joyful opportunity to be like You.  Your image is our image if we will allow it to be so...  help us to allow it with all of our being.  Give us mercy and love in dealing with a needy world.  Guide us to seeing the weightier matters of the royal law in every step we take.  What an Awesome God you are!  We love You in Jesus’ name,   Amen.
